The meaning of the name KYMDAN in Vietnamese language comes of "KỸ nghệ Mousse ÐA Ngành"
Stage 1 (1954– 1975)In Saigon from the years before 1975, the KYMDAN brand was well recognized by the consumers. KYMDAN was founded in 1954 beginning with the first ever KYMDAN mattress was produced on the 19 March 1954. Subsequently, the founder of the company, Mr. Dan Van Nguyen (born in 1926 in Gò Công Đông District, Tiền Giang Province, Vietnam), after much development, was able to produce the air odorless, ventilated mattress which was patented (number 831) on 26 September 1962.During this period, KYMDAN trademark was registered for protection under the Government of the Republic of Vietnam stemming from the pairing of names KY (Mr. Dan’s fathers name), Minh (name of the Mr. Dan’s eldest son) and DAN (the founders name)

KYMDAN factory in Cu Chi (108,163 m²) KYMDAN company has been privatized since early 1999. Shareholder capital investment started in early 2000, followed by the construction of KYMDAN's new production plant (from factory to equipment), on 40,000 m² ground in Cu Chi's North West Industrial Zone. The factory has been equipped with modern machinery, including automated production that eliminates the need for manual labour and entered into production by the end of the year 2000. In 2001, KYMDAN continued to expand our existing factory by adding 20,000 m² of production capacity. In early 2007, the factory added another 50,000 m² to meet growing demands for KYMDAN products in domestic and foreign markets for the near future (See growth chart). Due to such expansions, the factory area now totals 108,163 m².
